Rock Wren, or Pīwauwau in Māori, a true gem of New Zealand's alpine regions. This tiny, ground-dwelling bird is known for its vibrant green and yellow plumage and its distinctive, bounding flight. Rock Wrens thrive in rugged mountain environments, where they forage for insects and spiders. They are remarkable for their hardiness, often enduring harsh weather conditions. In Māori tradition, the Rock Wren is admired for its resilience and connection to the high mountains.
